The Huawei Best Student Paper Award candidates were selected by the Area Chairs and the Technical Program Chairs based on the reviewers scores and a following selection process to identify the top eight papers. Student authors of these candidate papers were invited to make a presentation at the Huawei Best Student Paper Award Special Session where the Area Chairs present at ICIP'2010 gave scores using a 1-5 scale (ordinary to very good) to the papers by considering all relevant reviewing criteria plus the oral presentation. The details of these eight presentations are as follows:

The three winners are the candidate papers with the highest scores computed by adding the Area Chairs scores. In case of a tie, the Technical Program Chairs would vote to select the winners. The announcement of the winners and presentation of the awards was held in the conference banquet.
